Mardi Gras At Sea World San Antonio

I am all about Mardi Gras food, so I knew I wanted to go to the Mardi Gras at Sea World.  There's also colorful characters walking around with beads.

We checked out the food first because we're all about eating.

There was also some fun boozy drinks but I'd rather spend the money on food.

I ended up getting the fried green tomato with avocado aioli po boy. It was incredible!

I also got beignets because, you know, Mardi Gras. Duh.

There's wonderful jazzy music playing in the background with all sorts of colorful decor. It'll get you in the dancing mood.

In between all of the fun, my kids went on the rides. I do not go on the rides. I am a wimp.

Also, I think it's amazing that my kids still get excited when they see the Sesame Street characters. I mean, you are never too old for them. I still get excited when Big Bird comes out.

That's Natalie hugging Elmo.

And Tommy hugging Elmo. When he was small, he would call Elmo Mo Mo.

Oh, and we also checked out the stores and look at this cute guy. He had a monocle!

We had a wonderful time. I would go back for one of those fried green tomato po boys. If you go, get one for me. You won't be sorry.

Mardi Gras goes on until February 27th so you still have time to check it out!

  6. I love that this was in San Antonio! How fun was that! I haven't been to the one in New Orleans because 1. St. Louis has a bigger festival than N.O. and 2. I am a teensy bit afraid of the one in N.O.

  8. I really enjoyed seeing all of the fun Mardi Gras decorations. I used to live in Louisiana and never really went to NOLA because it was a bit overwhelming. Seeing your trip to Sea World in TX was just what I needed.
