San Antonio Finally Has A Bojangles

We went to Bojangles when we were visiting family in North Carolina so I already knew I liked it. The chicken was fresh, the biscuits were fluffy, and the sweet tea was on point. I heard that San Antonio was getting a Bojangles and was thrilled--mind you, we don't get the full menu. We're missing some of the side items (mashed potatoes is one, boo) and we don't get the bone in chicken (fine with me, I usually opt for a sandwich or strips.)

(Oh and yes, if you're confused, Bojangles is a fast food chicken joint.)

I waited for the hoopla to die down after Bojangles opened. Many people were excited so the lines were insane, and I am impatient when I am hungry. If a line is over 15 minutes, I'm out.

Luckily when we stopped in, there were no lines.

It was nice that they had Veterans parking. My husband was able to park as he is now one. No military discount though.

Inside is small, so we ate in the back.

What did we order? The chicken strips! I got mine with the house made ranch and jalapeno ranch. Both sauces were fantastic and tasted fresh. My husband went with the honey mustard and said it was good. My daughter just sticks with ketchup.

I will admit I was disappointed with the Sweet Tea. It didn't taste as sweet as I remembered. Mind you, it depends on how the person makes it. Texas might not understand that sweet tea needs to be SWEET. It still had a good flavor, but not the intense one I recalled.

Oh, and there's Pepsi products. I generally prefer Coke, but I do enjoy a Diet Dr. Pepper, which they did have.

The combo meals come with a biscuit, and I asked for honey to go with ours. The biscuits were fluffy as I remembered, plus they're pretty large. I liked the flavor but I admit, Popeyes still wins as my fave biscuit at fast food chicken spots. However, my husband and daughter preferred the ones at Bojangles:

They also had a limited edition Peach Cobbler biscuit which I had to try. Fantastic taste. If you enjoy peach cobbler, try this. The topping didn't taste like it came from a can. Maybe it did, but I appreciate the fresh taste I got:

The winner of the meal? The Bo Berry biscuits. It's biscuits with blueberries and icing on top. These were fresh and amazing. The perfect treat!

Would we return? Yes! Everything we got was fresh. Plus, maybe if we stopped in again the sweet tea would taste better. I could see if the first batch I tried wasn't prepared properly.

I would get the Bo Berry biscuits again as well. Total win.

Have you ever been to Bojangles?

Looking to add some Lioness clothing to your wardrobe? Then one of the first places you should check out is their official website. Here you’ll find a variety of clothing, including dresses, pants, skirts, jackets, blazers, and denim. You can also shop their items according to collections, their best sellers, and even a sale tab. The prices for Lioness clothing are pretty affordable considering you’re getting designer clothing that’s constructed of well-made materials. If you’re interested in buying for the next season, you can also put a pre-order in on their website, which allows you to order an item that hasn’t been released for sale to the public yet. Once it is, you won’t have to worry about it going out of stock because you’ll be one of the first to get your hands on the latest pants, vest, blouse, or jacket!

Another great place to pick up authentic Lioness clothing is Shopbop. This site has an amazing selection of dresses, jeans, matching sets, skirts, and more for you to browse through. If you don’t find something in your size, not to worry, just make sure to keep checking back as the merchandise is always being updated.

Where to buy Lioness clothing online

There are plenty of places you can buy Lioness clothing online besides their official site and Shopbop. Head over to any of these sites and check out what Lioness clothing they have available (some may even be on sale!):

  • David Jones

  • The Iconic

  • Asos

  • Hello Molly

  • Dolls Kill

  • And more!

You can also head over to your local Macy’s or Urban Outfitters to try on some Lioness clothing in store. That way you can get a feel for how their items fit you and how their sizing runs. Of course both of these brick and mortar stores have online sites you can browse for Lioness items as well.

Don’t forget to check out online resale shops like Poshmark, ThredUp, and eBay for gently used Lioness clothing you can get at a real discount!

Does Lioness clothing ever go on sale?

Yes, you can definitely find Lioness clothing on sale! They offer sale items right on their website and here you’ll find items from previous seasons or collections, as well as products that are listed for final clearance. You can also check out the sites of other online stockists to see if they have a specific sale section for Lioness clothing.

How to style a Lioness clothing dress

What are the top ways to style a Lioness dress?

Styling a Lioness dress is something that anyone can pull off—it all depends on your personal sense of style, and what type of dress you’ve purchased. Here’s how we suggest styling three of Lioness’ top dress silhouettes.

Long and strappy

This sleek Lioness dress can be dressed up or down. Image courtesy of Lioness.

If you’ve picked up a longer maxi dress from Lioness, you’re not alone. This popular style hits at the ankle, looks good on all body shapes, and comes in a variety of colors and cuts.

If you’ve picked up something like the Juliette Satin Dress, you’re in luck, because this slip dress is very easy to style with almost anything you already have in your closet. Wear this soft and feminine dress with strappy heels or sandals if you have a date night coming up, or another special occasion you’re celebrating. This would look perfect with simple jewelry, a clutch, and maybe a wrap if the weather is changing.

You could also make this dress look a little more casual for lunch dates with friends, or when you just want to pull something effortlessly stylish together. Pair with a denim or leather jacket to get more coverage, then wear your favorite white sneakers or black boots, depending on where you’re headed.

You could also easily throw on your favorite sweater or sweatshirt and a comfy pair of sneakers if you’re looking for something that’s as pretty as it is cozy to wear!

Cool and casual

This fall dress would look perfect with knee high boots. Image courtesy of Lioness.

Looking for a more casual style that you can wear to all kinds of daytime occasions? Then consider sticking with the maxi length, but adding the comfort of warmer knit material and longer sleeves. The Opulence maxi dress is ideal to wear when the temperature starts to dip a little, but still isn’t too cold for dresses. It’s the right mix of the casual feel of your favorite sweater, but with some ultra feminine touches like a plunging neckline and thigh slits.

You can easily wear this with your favorite fall denim jacket or trench coat, and pair it with knee high boots. You could also rock a pair of your favorite booties, but wear some eye-catching leggings to keep your legs warm. This dress could easily be styled for nighttime if you’d rather wear it for dates or gatherings with friends! Just pull out your favorite heeled boots or pumps and leave the leggings at home! Any jacket would look nice with this neutral color, especially a black moto jacket.

Short and sexy

This cute dress would look great with strappy heels or sandals! Image courtesy of Shopbop.

Sometimes you just want to show off a little leg, and when that’s the case, a short, flirty dress from Lioness is in order. The Glory mini dress checks all those boxes when you have a girls’ night out planned, or an extra special dinner occasion. The slinky jersey material is designed to show off your curves, while the short length is balanced by the boat neckline and long sleeves. There are feminine rosettes at the hip, which are complemented by the ruched sides.

You could easily style this dress with a pair of patent black heels or sandals for an easy, elegant ensemble. Or choose to go a little more casual for a laid back date with a pair of ballerina flats along with a white denim jacket or light colored trench coat.

Our favorite Lioness dresses you should pick up ASAP!

Lioness Barcelona dress

One of the most popular Lionesses dresses is the Barcelona midi dress. Although it’s no longer listed on the official Lioness site, you can still find it for sale on consignment sites like Poshmark! This dress hits right at the calves, and features spaghetti straps with a V neckline.

Lioness Smokeshow strapless dress

If you’re looking for the perfect denim dress that you can easily wear for all four seasons, look no further than the Smokeshow dress. The mid-weight, non-stretch denim is in the perfect acid wash, and features a midi length and a bustier style silhouette that is very figure flattering. You’ll love the eye-catching paneled seams, as well as the back slit and the easy in/easy off hidden zipper.

Style this dress with your favorite flats or sandals for a casual summer look. You could also transition this dress to the fall with a pair of knee high boots and sweater. You’ll find yourself reaching for this dress no matter what time of year it is!

Lioness Rendezvous strapless dress

If you’ve been hunting high and low for the perfect date night ensemble, look no further than the Rendezvous dress available at Shopbop. The strapless silhouette is always in style, and is sure to help you stand out from the crowd. This dress is quite popular due to its light-weight jersey material, as well as its stunning side slits, asymmetrical hem, and raw edged ruffle trim. Pair it with some strappy black sandals, a clutch purse, and a black choker to complete your party-ready outfit!

Which Lioness clothing dress do you want to pick up next?

Lioness creates dresses that are easy to style, and look good on everyone! No matter the occasion, you can put together a great look with a Lioness dress.

Tasting Some Newly Released Foods

I always get excited when I see new snacks on the store shelves. I get even more excited when I have a coupon for the new snacks. I don't always get that lucky, but sometimes I do. I recently found a bunch of new things to try while out shopping.

First up, I had heard that Walmart had Scoops Ahoy flavored pints of ice cream inspired by the show Stranger Things. We are fans of the program on Netflix so I decided to go for the Mint Flare flavor. It had a nice taste, and we might go for another one:

Also at Walmart was this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pizza. I opted for the Supreme one and honestly, it was just okay. The crust didn't have much flavor, but the packaging was fun. I wouldn't get it again:

At HEB I found these Hostess flavored puddings. The Cupcakes basically tasted like your typical chocolate and the Twinkies was overly sweet. I love sweet things, but it was almost too sweet for me. You can find these in most grocery stores:

Back to Walmart I found this Miraculous cereal. My daughter loves the show so she was excited to taste it. It's strawberry macaron flavored apparently and we liked it. Not overly sweet. If you enjoy berry tasting cereals, you'll be a fan of this one:

Obviously the strawberry Pop Tarts are not new, but I loved seeing the retro packaging. I'm always excited when companies do this:

This was a delicious mashup: it's a Ding Dong on the outside but inside it's a Twinkie. I like both so I figured I'd like this and I do! I found this at Walmart but I think it's available at most grocery stores:

I figured out I was obsessed with bao buns while at Walt Disney World so when I saw these pizza ones, I was thrilled. Unfortunately I thought they had an odd flavor but my daughter liked them!

These were intriguing chips. I didn't get much of the Cheeto flavor on them, sadly, so they tasted rather plain to me:

Did you know Chef Gordon Ramsay has a line of microwavable meals? They're a bit pricey at nearly $6, so I only picked up two. I did like the flavors, but warning, when you head up the mac & cheese one it will smell like feet. However, it does not taste like feet. These are only available at Walmart:

At Five Below they have different varieties of freeze dried candy. These are the crunch bears kind. They are too sweet for me, I found. Nice flavor, but too intense. Natalie and her friends enjoyed the rest of them:

Finally, Panda Express has new Apple Pie egg rolls. You get a sweet outside topped with cinnamon sugar and apples on the inside. I was a fan! I just wish they had icing to dip them in.

So have you tried any of these snacks yet? Or do you have one you've seen in stores that I should try?

Is T-Rex At Disney Springs Any Good?

My daughter has always loved dinosaurs. I think it's because I showed her Jurassic Park at a young age. You'd think it would have terrified her but no, I think she had mad respect for the t-rex in the movie, and the raptor who was a "clever girl."

When we visit Walt Disney World, we always head to Disney Springs to shop and get something to eat. We had never been to the restaurant T-Rex before, so we decided to check it out. I do recommend making a reservation, but some people were able to make same day reservations while we were there. You can have lunch or dinner.

T-Rex, for those who don't know, is basically like the Rainforest Cafe in the sense that a meteor shower hits every 15 minutes or so, which is a bit morbid, but ya know...at the Rainforest Cafe it's just a thunderstorm, but T-Rex has animatronic dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, and different rooms to dine in.

There is certainly a lot to see. If you prefer quiet, this is not the spot for you.

We liked seeing all the dinosaurs:

The menu has things like burgers, sandwiches, pastas, nachos, fun drinks, etc:

I can't remember what our room was called, but it was neat:

Yes, we might have gotten a drink in the dinosaur cup:

I ordered something from the appetizer section. I forget what it was called, but it was tasty:

Tommy got fish & chips which he said were delicious, and Natalie ordered from the kids section because she eats like a bird at times. This was the chicken strip meal, and I thought it was cute taht it came on a dino plate:

There's also a dinosaur store on the way out where you can create your own stuffed dino. It's set up like Build A Bear. Plus there are other dino related gifts. If you just want to check out the store and not dine, you're able to do so.

Would we return? Yes! It was a fun experience and we're hoping to get into the glacier room at one point. That room would light up in different colors and it just seemed like an exciting spot to dine.

Have you ever eaten at T-Rex before?

Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

HEY, IT'S OKAY....

.....to be happy that I got to see Tommy over the weekend. We took him out to lunch. He's doing awesome in college--doing fabulous in all his classes, he joined the film club, and his internship is going well.

.....to have had a blast at Howl-O-Scream over the weekend. I'm a huge scaredy cat so I screamed and jumped a bunch. Do not send me into those houses first!

.....to still be confused over Natalie's math work. She has geometry this year and it's like, sorry, I do not remember how to figure out the volume so please do not ask me for help.

.....to have loved the last episode of Ahsoka. Hayden Christensen was back as Darth Vader and I was like "AHHHH!"

.....to have tried Cookie Dough Conquest at Hu Hot and I'm so glad we did. It's fried wontons and there's cookie dough inside. Plus they put a bunch of chocolate on the plate and give you a side of vanilla ice cream to dip them in. So save room for dessert!

What We Saw At Howl-O-Scream San Antonio

We always love going to Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld. There's haunted houses, scary zones to walk in with spooky characters, bars, plus so much more. We go every year! I was invited this year to go behind-the-scenes before Howl-O-Scream started so that was incredible.

Howl-O-Scream goes until October 29th, so you have plenty of time to check it out. If you aren't into the spooks, there is SeaWorld Spooktacular where kids can get candy from nice characters from 1115-315. There's also a cool maze and other fun spots.

Here's the map:

Since I got to go behind-the-scenes, I saw the scare actors getting their makeup on. It's a pretty cool experience and the makeup artists are talented. When you see the characters out, the makeup is impressive. They truly go above and beyond:

There's also a show called Monster Stomp and we got to see the rehearsals for that. Go see it! The actors put in so much work:

If the scares are getting to you and you need booze, there are bars:

There is cool decorations. This skeleton mermaid is fabulous:

Sea World was kind and gave me one of these skeleton necklaces. It interacted with certain scare zones and I loved all the features:

At around 650, the characters start to emerge to the haunted houses and scare zones. This headless guy was neat:

This lady kept emitting screams. She's me before I have my Diet Coke:

This sailor was roaming around the show Siren's Song asking for help:

Make sure you watch Siren's Song! It's only about 15 minutes and it's fantastic. The women basically kick ass. There's singing, dancing, and possession. Plus the costumes are spectacular. I believe the show goes on 3 times during the night.

Howl-O-Scream starts at 7 and be sure to pick up a Fear Pass to skip the lines for the haunted houses. You can check out all the different ones here.  They're all currently on sale so be sure to purchase some before prices return to normal.

This was the Atlantis: The Cursed Chasm house and it was our favorite. There were neat fog bubbles towards the end and we loved this starfish even though he ran up and made us scream soon after I snapped this:

The Zombie Horde was an open walk through:

Be sure to check out all the neat photo ops:

The Nightmare Midway frightened me a bit because of the clowns, but Natalie loved them. Their costumes were beautiful:

Be sure to check out Howl-O-Scream! As I mentioned, it starts at 7 on select nights. We had the best time as we always do.

Everyone involved in putting this together is talented. I screamed over 10 times, I own't even lie. Those scare actors are behind you before you even know it.

Click here to learn more about Howl-O-Scream San Antonio and if you go, let me know what your favorite haunted house was.
