Last year my daughter didn't even go to Homecoming. The Elton John concert fell on the same day and she opted to go to that instead. I think she made a wise choice. She ended up having an amazing time.
This year she went to Homecoming and here's the thing with my daughter's school: they actually sell out of tickets because there's so many students. It's held in the cafeteria and due to fire codes, only so many people can be there at once. Hence the cut off of ticket sells.
Natalie got a ticket.
Her boyfriend did not.
Was she a little irritated? Yes. But she decide to still go and have fun with friends.
Getting these pictures wasn't easy because she wasn't in the best of moods because she'd be without her boyfriend. I know she saw on social media all her friends with their dates and she kept thinking, why couldn't mine have stepped up? I feel her frustration.
However, I also reminded her that she doesn't need a man to have a good time.
I loved how she did her hair. I did not help. I would have messed it up. I am terrible with hair and makeup so it's a good thing she figured out how to do all of that on her own.
Anyhow, we found the dress on Etsy from the SHEISMEDRESS store. She has so many beautiful looks. The Homecoming theme was Enchanted Garden so she wanted a celestial dress. A lot of dresses on Homecoming tend to be short, but she wanted a long one.
The details of the dress were gorgeous:
She ended up having a wonderful time at Homecoming. She danced with friends and then went out after Homecoming on a party bus. She did miss her boyfriend but I am glad she still made memories and shared lots of laughter with her group of people.
It sounds like they had a great theme for the homecoming. It's a shame her boyfriend didn't get a ticket but as you said you don't need a man to have a great time. Love the dress and hair, she looks gorgeous x

ReplyDeleteYour daughter's dress is very pretty and the accessories in her hair are a nice touch! My daughter went with a group of friends to homecoming. I echo your sentiment - girls can have fun without a date at these dances!
