Did you know Gordon Ramsay had his own line of TV dinners at Walmart? I didn't until I stumbled upon them. I was like, huh, this is interesting, because it didn't seem like anything he'd be interested in slapping his name on since he's all "quality ingredients muthafuka" or something along those lines. Then again, if you toss enough money at someone, they'll bound to cave.
Anyway.
I picked these up to start with. They're kinda pricey at nearly $6 each.
So the Shepherd's Pie actually had a tasty flavor. I would get it again. Did it look kind of like vomit out of the microwave? Yes. But it smelled lovely even though it didn't look lovely. The picture on the box is much more appealing than what it comes out looking like.
The macaroni and cheese had a weird feet smell coming from it as it warmed in the microwave. HOWEVER it did not taste like feet, I'm proud to say. I enjoyed it. But do not make this in a work kitchen because people might frown in your direction.
I also tried the Slow Roasted Beef because the description sounded appealing:
This had a fabulous scent as it cooked. But I felt like there should be more for $6. You got like 5 tiny beef tips and the rest was potatoes and mushrooms, and strange looking pearl onions.
I probably would not get this one again since I was still hungry after I ate it.
There are other flavors that I personally didn't try, but my husband did. He enjoyed the Mushroom Risotto but did warn that it also had a strange smell when you cooked it. He also likes the lasagna.
So we would recommend these meals for the most part. Oh, and this was new and I haven't tried it yet, but I've always wanted to taste the Beef Wellington. I came across a video on Tik Tok where the guy was saying they were delicious. Apparently Gordon just released a bunch of appetizer flavors for the holidays. You can also find pizza bites, crab cakes, and cheese bites.
Have you tried any of Chef Ramsay's meals?
His meals must not be available in Canada because I didn't even know he had a frozen food line. I would love to try the beef wellington too!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these before. They look ok, not anything particularly amazing. I guess it's nice to have a decent mac and cheese for a quick meal.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know he had these meals, I find frozen meals can be hit or miss and rarely find myself liking such meals
ReplyDeleteI've not come across any of these dishes before. I would be interested to try them myself although I do agree they are a bit pricey. It sounds like you tried a nice variety of dishes. The Shepherd's Pie sounds yummy. I'd probably pop it into a plate as it will look more like the picture then.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that he has a frozen food line. This just does not fit with his food image.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is the first time I knew this kind of frozen food that came from him. I'll surely try these.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried any of Ramsay's meals. But it can be a great solution for someone especially for this busy season!
ReplyDeleteThe macaroni cheese looks nice. My husband is a big Gordon Ramsey fan so I bet he would love to try these out
ReplyDeletenot sure i would want that smell!! but would try any of the vegetarian meals (if any) at least once for the Ramsay name
ReplyDeleteOh that Shepard's Pie did not hold much shape did it? I'm glad it tasted good. Haven't tried any of these yet but might check out those wellington bites!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know he even had these; I would try the Mac & Cheese. I bet it's good.
ReplyDeleteWow I had no idea! That's pretty neat! I wonder if they will bring them to Walmart Canada.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of Ramsay's dishes before, but I'd like to try them someday. Thank you so much for sharing and recommending it
ReplyDeleteI haven’t been in the grocery store in a long time. I typically order my groceries for pick up. I spend less money that way.
ReplyDeleteI have dined in his restaurant but never tried any of his meal. Once I am back in India I'll check if it is available there or not. But yeah your review was just yummy.
ReplyDeleteHe is my son's favorite chef. We haven't tried his TV dinners yet though. Soon! -LYNNDEE
ReplyDeleteI didn't realizes that chief ramsay's had is own dish that you can microwave. I will have to try them, they sound so good. thanks for sharing your review of the product with us.
ReplyDeleteNot only quick and easy, but looks absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteOh so he has frozen goods now!! I should tryyyy
ReplyDeleteI saw his meals at Walmart last week. I picked up 2 fish and chips. My husband and I really liked the fish. The chips are good but a little big and don’t have salt( no salt makes my doctor happy). I would but then again. We want to try some of his other meals as well.
