In case you didn't know, there's a new Wonka movie comes out this month. It's a musical and it stars Timothee Chalamet and Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa, which let me tell you, is a choice. But I still plan on seeing the movie because I enjoy a good song & dance number. It comes out December 15th and my kids and I will be there.
IHOP came out with a Wonka menu to help promote the film and naturally I had to try it, because I am all about sweets. I know I am a grown adult and should be like "Ooo eat your chia seeds and quinoa" but honestly, those things aren't my favorite. Give me colorful treats and chocolate any day. And yes, because I prefer the junk food, I do have to jog daily, which isn't fun, but I'll do it to avoid bean sprouts.
So anyhow, the Wonka menu. First off, it's pretty:
Here's all the options:
Here's a description of the food:
Did the waitress find it confusing that a grown adult ordered the Dreamy Lemonade? If she did, she didn't show it.
Here's the Dreamy Lemonade and as I mentioned, I'm a sucker from all things colorful. It is incredibly sweet, so if that's not your thing, avoid this. That's vanilla frosting on the rim which yes, I scraped off with a spoon, because that's perfectly good frosting, yo:
All of the dishes sounded scrumptious, but I will went with the Perfectly Purple Pancakes which are pancakes layered with cheesecake mousse and topped with purple cream cheese icing, whipped topping, and gold glitter sugar.
Again. Whew on the sweet factor. I got it with the sausage combo.
Here's a close up of the pancakes:
Did I like them? Yes! Great flavor if you like cream cheese. If you do not, avoid. I did a video on TikTok here and someone said they looked dry. They were not. I would order them again but if I make it back before the menu goes away, I'd order the Daydream Berry Biscuit.
Honestly, I was impressed with the menu. It was fun, it was whimsical, and if you're also an adult who likes sugary things, you need to head to IHOP. I'm not sure how long the Wonka menu will be around.
Have you tried the anything from the Wonka menu yet?
I"m looking forward to seeing this movie and I will have to stop at IHOP for brunch before I go!
