We were at The Pearl over the weekend getting graduation photos done so we decided to eat afterwards since everyone was hungry.
We decided on La Gloria, a fun Tex Mex located by the river.
It has tons of fabulous decor.
Naturally we ate outside. It wasn't overly hot and there were fans going. And we got to look out at the river.
We were given chips & salsa to start with. The chips had a different texture and flavor than what I was used to at Tex Mex spots, but I liked them. Salsa had a nice kick to it. Unfortunately they did have Pepsi products--I prefer Coke. So I just stuck with water.
While you wait for your food, there are games set up:
It truly is a relaxing area:
I ended up getting the beef street tacos. The beef had an incredible flavor--Tom and Natalie got the shrimp street tacos and said they were also delicious. The charro beans and rice were also tasty.
Natalie also got the street corn. She's obsessed with street corn. She's lactose free so her stomach isn't quite as obsessed, so she always has a Lactaid on her. I had a bite and it had a nice spice to the corn. I'd order it next time!
So if you're every at The Pearl and are looking for a spot to dine, pick La Gloria! It is open 7 days a week & you'll get a lot of fun photos with all their amazing statues.

ReplyDeleteThat post captures the spirit of eating at the Pearl so well. The food at La Gloria is the kind of place where every dish feels like a small fiesta on a plate. The bright colors, casual outdoor vibe, and those bold Mexican street-food flavors make it more than just a meal. It feels like an experience. Places like that blur the line between restaurant and celebration. One moment you sit down for lunch, the next you’re lingering over margaritas, people watching, and wondering if you should order just one more taco.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post! I love your pics! Trying new food is always fun! And going places and building nice memories is amazing! It looks like you have a close and beautiful relationship with your children! I have a very close relationship with my Dad! We walked across a bridge one time and just enjoyed spending time together! We took a lot of photos! Sadly, I lost those photos! It’s funny you mention liking Come over Pepsi! They’ve been in competition a long time! lol.
ReplyDeleteI love tex mex food. I’ve been to San Antonio a few times but we got Chilis to go the last time we were there. I’ll have to remember this restaurant next time I’m in the area.
