Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. To be excited that they are doing a sequel to My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Yay!


To have a lot of sandwich or TV dinner nights when Tom is gone. This baffles Tommy though. "You mean, you aren't making dinner? Why?" He doesn't consider a sandwich dinner. Like his father. Blah. He is completely at a loss if I offer cereal as a dinner choice.


To think the new Happy Meal box is a tad scary. It has a face on the side now. I feel like it's watching me as I stuff my face with nuggets.


To be taking the kids to see Maleficent today. Natalie has been looking forward to this movie for weeks. I'm looking forward to the popcorn mixed with SnoCaps.


To have reviewed a book called The Beautiful American over at Chick Lit Central here. That site has all sorts of fabulous books reviewed.


To still have a giveaway up to win an American Bible prize pack here.


To have bought MarioKart 8 for Tommy since he did so well in school. (If you buy the game at Target, you get the wheel free!)

Batgirl The Gymnast?

I am not coordinated.

My daughter is.

Sort of.

She does get hurt a lot.

But she manages to do gymnastics really well.

(And yes, I had to get her an awesome leotard. The other ones can be boring. And plus, tons of other kids would be wearing the same thing. Couldn't have that! So I ordered her a leotard from the Etsy shop SENDesigne.)


Tom was really excited to see his daughter perform at her end of the year show.

I'm serious when I say he looks like this 90% of the time. Bitch Resting Face. My husband has it.


The kids all go to different stations to show what they can do. Natalie is pretty good with the bars. I did gymnastics for a brief (brief) period as a kid and was petrified of the bars.

She didn't fall off the balance beam. I would have.

Whenever I see her do this, I picture Anne of Green Gables going across the roof.

After the kids did all their tricks, they got a medal:

We'll keep doing gymnastics until she wants to quit.

(Some people gave their kids flowers after the show. Natalie got a pat on the head.)

Brunette Ambition by Lea Michele Review!

I don't watch Glee, but I know who Lea Michele is.

She's beautiful, and let's not forget her amazing voice. I've heard her sing before. Even though I don't watch Glee, I have downloaded some songs that have been sung on there.

Lea has a new book out called Brunette Ambition.

It's a book filled with stories about her--she answers several questions and talks about what it was like growing up. No surprise, she began singing at a young age. She was even in Les Miserables!


Brunette Ambition isn't only about Lea's life though. She discusses makeup tips, which always come in handy. I have no idea what I'm doing when I use makeup:

She also shares several low calories recipes that she enjoys. This one looked tasty:

The book is filled with all sorts of colorful photos. Lea also goes over workouts that she does to stay in shape. If only I weren't so lazy. Perhaps one day, Lea.

If you are a fan of Lea Michele, this is the book for you. Even if you aren't, you'll still like it. As I mentioned before, I don't watch Glee, but I appreciated and enjoyed reading through this book.
