Sometimes.....

.......it’s not worth the battle.

I totally let Natalie out like this while we ran errands.

  1. If I had seen you out and about with Natalie in that outfit, I might've taken a picture and then shaken your hand.

  2. Good mom! At least you were able to get your errands done with a happy child.

  3. LOL!!

Too precious... and really a reflection on your free-spirited, happy go luckiness as her mom.

  4. Does that not match?

But seriously. Love the hat. My cousin has a little business making hats like that, and I'm fond of the food-as-hat idea.

Plus, I mean, you've seen what's considered "couture," right? This might be all the rage in Milan come fall.

  6. i think i just saw that on the runway the other day...your daughter is a genius.

  7. Haha! I'm not sure I could let Evie out of the house in an outfit like that...but then again, she's only 2. She's still easily distractable.

  8. Aww...too cute!! And yep, not worth a battle, you gotta go with the flow ;)

  9. I used to let my oldest go to the store with me dressed as the yellow power ranger. I don't think I need to say anything more than that.

  10. soooo true!! next time, just put a sticker on her that reads: "I dressed myself today"

at least that will get you off the hook and people will know it wasn't you!! lol

  11. It's not. Around 2 years old, for several months Ava would only wear mismatch shoes. Hub fought it then I said, she's 2. It's cute, no one cares. And it was. We got over it.

Now she wears purple butterfly skirts with brown tank tops and zebra print leggings. Eh. Sometimes.

  12. so way totally not worth the fight. my son hasn't worn a shirt in the last 3 days. does that make me a bad mom? maybe....but it ALSO makes him a happy boy which makes me a happy mom. i WILL draw the line if one of my daughters tries that trend once they hit the teen years though. pickin' my battles.

  13. I do that! I am saving all my vetos for when micro minis and belly shirts appear in my daughter's wardrobe. This way it won't make me feel bad to go"No way!"

Some of the outfits I've taken pics of were very very sad...

    Snicker!

  14. Well she's about the cutest thing I've ever seen. She has some sense of style.

  15. She looks adorable! I remember when my daughter wanted to go out in her pajamas. I think I yelled something like, "Fine, but people are going to think you look ridiculous going out like that!" What happened? Many people came up to her telling her how adorable she looked, while she looked at me with a HUGE smile on her face. LOL!

  16. I like it! She can totally pull off anything. :D

  17. The pumpkin winter hat is a great touch. Laugh now, but maybe someday she'll have her own high fashion line...:)

  18. She is so stinkin cute she could pull off any look! LOL I let my 3 yr old wear his Spiderman slippers to the park a few weeks ago.

  19. Lol! My kid's thing is lemon and lime colored rain boots. Mainly on sunny days of course!

  20. Wow...she sure is rockin' it and by the smile on her face, she looks quite proud of her ensemble :) What a cutie :)

  21. I say, "go for it." The girl sure does look happy!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Good for you! Who cares what other people think? My husband won't let the kids go to the store in their power ranger costumes, but I say who cares? :)

  23. Can't wait until my girlie starts picking out her clothes, LOL. She did insist on 2 different sandals the other day...

Natalie rocks some sweet style right there.

  26. So she consolidated the Cinderella story, by wearing the princess shirt, and pumpkin hat! Where's the problem? Really, Mom, what are you saying????

    =^)

  27. I only wish I were so brave as to be able to dress in whatever my heart desires for the day! :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. With a face like that, who cares what she wears! She does kinda look like that Yo Gabba Gabba dude, though!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why on earth not? She looks absolutely fabulous. In fact, am just sorting out my outfit for tomorrow and I'm trying to emulate the look. It'll certainly make people notice ...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is that a pumpkin on her head?

I think she is going eclectic, I'm so cute I can pull anything off kind of look. She nailed it!

    ReplyDelete
  37. You are so right. Somedays (most days) it's not worth the battle.
With a smile like that, how could you not succumb to her cuteness?

    ReplyDelete
  38. My mom used to let me go with her grocery shopping in my dress up heels and umbrella - you are a good mom!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I would have too. She looks adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Too cute! Hey - she's starting a trend! Either that or she has a career for a major marketing chain, wearing a pumpkin hat and it's only June. You KNOW how the stores love to jump so early on the holidays!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ah that's just kids being cute, they can get away with it. Now if you were to don something similar...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Self expression is important at her age.... And you can use this picture to blackmail her when she's a teenager :-)

  43. Luckily, your kid would look cute in a mailbag, so no worries. I used to bug out a bit, thinking people would judge me for Moochie's outfits, but then I got a life. Picking battles is key. But I really wouldn't mind getting some of those stickers, or maybe a "she dressed herself" t-shirt. Not that you should, because Nat totally owns the runway.

    ReplyDelete
  44. She is so cute she can get away with any fashion faux pas. And I think it makes you a pretty awesome Mom to let her show her individualism.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'd let her out to run errands like that too! She is such a doll!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. That is perfectly acceptable outfit...at least that's what Addie tells me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Love your attitude, love the outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  48. hahahaha ... good for you!

  50. If my 3-1/2 year old daughter wasn't already a twin, I'd swear she was your daughters twin. I've been collecting photos to post of her at my blog and plan to do it once our move is complete.

Does she primp in the mirror also? or constantly ask, "Am I soooo cute?

I actually think she did a great job with that outfit. I'm hoping my daughter will give me fashion advice :))

    ReplyDelete
  51. honestly, I wish more parents reserved their energy for things like bad behaviors, and just let their kids personality shine through - whether it makes sense to the grown ups or not!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think it's cool that you let her go out that way. It lets her be an individual.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Um,......I kinda dress like that myself. Opps.

    ReplyDelete
  54. You are such a great mom ... and she is totally stylin'!

    ReplyDelete
