20 Responses To I'm Bored From Teens

Oh man, this social distancing thing can be difficult. If you have teens at home, they might announce that they are bored. Yes, there is schooling, but suppose they've finished? Then what?

Here's a list of things they can do if those words are uttered. (Adults as well!)

1. Look up Henry VIII and figure out which of his wives is your favorite

2. Make up a dance (maybe it'll go Tik Tok viral!)

3. Draw something

4. Organize your closet

5. Write a story

6. Act out a favorite part of a movie. (For example? Billy Madison "conditioner is better!")

7. Read a book

8. Flip through old photo albums and learn what life was like in the 90s (no smartphones!)

9. Research a job you'd like to try (yup, doctors really do go to school for that long)

10. Binge watch a show that your mom watched when SHE was in high school (Dawson's Creek?)

11. Do a science experiment (there are easy ones on YouTube)

12. Offer to make dinner (and do the dishes!)

13. Watch Titanic and explain how Jack could have fit on the door with Rose

14. Go on a virtual field trip

15. Clean out your backpack (and scrub out what's growing on the bottom of it)

16. Make a vision board

17. Write an actual letter to a family member (not a text! Use a PEN!)

18. See how many sit ups you can do in a minute

19. Tell your father to stop chewing so loud when he eats

20. Use chalk and write an inspiring message on the driveway.

What do you think you'll try first?

  15. Lol, great suggestions. My kids don't seem to tell me they're bored that much--but they tend to try to spend every spare minute on their electronics. We struggle with balance frequently.

  17. When I was a teen, I used to do the dishes and prepare meals sometimes. Binge-watching movies was also something that I really enjoyed. Also, writing letters with pen, is something interesting which I should have tried.
